Many believe that eating less fat will make you trimmer and healthier. Although that notion is backed by some studies another group of researches disproves it. Just like in the case of the French, who significantly consume more fat than most American people yet has lower obesity rate. Same goes with the Alaskan Eskimos who have 70% of their calorie consumption from fat but are considered to be among those with the lowest rate of heart disease in the entire world.
It has been said a lot of times here that when you eat to diet, you have to burn fat with fat. How can that be? Well, as can be derived from above, fat is not the reason for being unhealthy or stout. In fact, eating fat can help you in your diet for the following reasons:
- Good fats supply some of the most stable and best source of energy - feeling good all day long especially if you have too much on your plate is very important.
- A specific amount of fat is needed for proper hormone production - this allows for better metabolism. It also helps to build muscle tissue which is important for energy expenditure. Your muscles are basically the ones responsible for calorie burning so if you do not eat good fat, you will have difficulty building muscle as well as maintaining it.
- It will lessen your consumption of the wrong carbs - dietary fat burns slower in the body. When you eat less (or not at all) of it, and resort to faster burning bad carbs, you will be less energetic, your metabolism will slow down, it will affect hormonal production and in effect also influences your muscle.
There are good fat and bad fat, when you eat to diet, you should know the difference. Fat is essential when trying to shed weight, just be keen on what to consume and you will be on to a sexier you.
